When I left Ascot back in the May it was a very difficult decision that I had to make, so much so that It took me over a month to fully confirm that was what I wanted to do. Having been out of the Ascot circle for a while I missed the Racecourse, I missed my team.  Ascot get the hiring right, the team that I am apart of is amazing and I couldn’t ask for better managers and colleagues that I work alongside.  When the opportunity came about for me to come back to Ascot it was one of the easiest decisions that I have made in a while, even in the short time I was gone the improvement in the department is phenomenal and is a testament to the sales and commercial team - I can’t wait for the journey ahead.

What attracted you to work at Ascot?
It was an amazing opportunity to learn a trade and work with experienced people – I was looking forward to working in a large company with a team of people who can help me learn and develop my skills which will enhance the team in the future. To start here as an apprentice on a day release scheme attending college once a week to learn the theory and additional skills that will add to my knowledge – some of which could be discussed with my team leader as they may be useful in my role here once I have completed my apprenticeship.

What has been your biggest career highlight at Ascot?
I have just completed the Hamilton Meeting Room which was my first work project experience, which was redecorating the Meeting room from top to bottom with the Painting & Decorating team – I felt so proud that I had completed it to a high standard of décor.
I am looking forward to the future and my next project on this scale.

What attracted you to work at Ascot?
Ascot is a prestigious venue that is known worldwide and having attended as a customer previously I was aware of the positive experience you can have here.  Whilst I am not particularly into horse racing I am a big fan of the hospitality side of things and the fine dining aspects, which attracted me to the role

What has been your biggest career highlight at Ascot so far?
Probably being the Top CRM Sales Person of 2018 as well as being voted by my colleagues as the first ever Employee of the month a few years back.  Also returning to work from being signed off and working/ being part of a challenging post-Covid Royal Ascot.  Many thanks.

I worked for Ascot as temporary waiting staff whilst at university, and I loved the buzz of working in events. After working a Royal Ascot week, I realised there really is no event like Royal Ascot! A few years later a friend mentioned an opportunity to work in Hospitality Sales so I joined the Sales Team in May 2014. It was such an exciting place to work, the main aim of the job is to make sure everyone who attends the racecourse has the best time possible and I love that part of my job!  After almost 9 years at Ascot, I now work within the Memberships Team looking after our Annual Boxholders and I love it.  I really enjoy the day to day at Ascot, working with a wonderful team of colleagues and clients really makes Ascot a fantastic place to work.
